Design Evaluation Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Hands-on internship supporting evaluation, characterization, and validation of semiconductor products through the development lifecycle. Work with experienced engineers to perform bench testing, analyze measurements, troubleshoot issues, and help improve test and automation tools.
No travel required. This role is intended to develop interns for consideration for full-time positions.
Experience Level
Entry-level intern; suitable for students currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field.
Responsibilities
Primary tasks performed by the intern include:
- Assist in evaluation, characterization, and validation of semiconductor devices using test methods and laboratory equipment.
- Support debugging and analysis to identify and resolve product performance issues.
- Collect, analyze, and document measurement data, test results, and technical findings.
- Contribute to development and improvement of evaluation, testing, and automation tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Test, Product, Quality, Applications).
- Present project findings and recommend actions based on test results.
Requirements
Core skills and competencies expected for this internship.
- Basic understanding of electrical or computer engineering principles.
- Familiarity with analog and digital circuits, test methods, and laboratory measurement practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to organize and interpret technical data.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and evaluation techniques.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and similar test instruments.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to programming or scripting for automation and analysis (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++ or similar).
- Nice-to-have: prior engineering project, coursework, or research involving testing, data analysis, circuit evaluation, or hardware/software development.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
