Design Engineering Intern (m/f/d)
Role Summary
Internship position within Qorvo's Advanced Cellular RF design team based in Munich. The intern will support design, simulation, characterization and integration of acoustic filter components and RFFE modules.
Work will include circuit and EM simulations, collaboration with characterization teams, documentation of results, and contributing to design-flow and process improvements.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level role for current students; intended for those enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Designing BAW/SAW acoustic filter components for wireless RF applications.
- Supporting laminate integration of filter components into RFFE modules.
- Running circuit and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using commercial and internal tools.
- Meeting product specification requirements for RF performance, cost, and schedule.
- Working with the characterization team to evaluate and diagnose RF components.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of design flows, methods, and processes.
- Documenting and presenting engineering results.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes required or preferred for the role.
- Analog/RF circuit design coursework and/or hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with RF simulation and design tools: ADS, AWR, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Cadence, Dynamic Link.
- Exposure to RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong collaboration skills; self-starter with effective verbal and written communication.
- Organizational skills for systematic planning and scheduling; attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Education Requirements
Internship targeted at students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD program. Preferred: MS in Electrical Engineering with focus on RF & Microwaves; finishing coursework is preferred.
