Design Engineer, Senior Staff/Manager
QualcommJob Title
Design Engineer, Senior Staff/Manager
Role Summary
Work on RTL and SoC IP design, verification, validation, integration and documentation for high-performance, low-power ASIC products in the ASICS Engineering group. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, implement IP blocks, and integrate them into large-scale SoCs.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects substantial ASIC/RTL/SoC engineering experience; the posting references multiple experience ranges including senior RTL roles around 12+ years and other positions requiring several years of ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, integration and delivery of digital IP and SoC functions.
- Define, model, design (digital and/or analog), optimize, verify, validate, implement and document IP (block/SoC) development.
- Architect digital IP and contribute to SoC microarchitecture decisions.
- Perform RTL design and review for clocking, reset and related infrastructure.
- Integrate interconnects and bus protocols (e.g., AHB, AXI) into IP and SoC designs.
- Execute SoC integration tasks including PLDRC and CDC analysis and fixes.
- Collaborate with verification, validation and cross-functional teams to ensure silicon readiness.
Requirements
Technical must-haves and key experience areas.
- Proven ASIC design, verification, validation or integration experience working on digital IP and SoC projects.
- Strong RTL design skills and experience with digital IP architecture and SoC microarchitecture.
- Experience with clock/reset design and timing-related issues in RTL/SoC contexts.
- Familiarity with interconnect and bus protocols such as AHB and AXI.
- Practical experience with SoC integration tasks, PLDRC and CDC closure.
- Experience integrating and delivering large-scale SoCs.
Education Requirements
Options listed in the posting: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 6+ years of relevant ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
