Job Title

Design Engineer - Memory Design

Role Summary

Work within Arm's Physical IP Division on design, characterization, verification and release of SRAM and memory instances targeted at advanced process nodes (examples: 14A, 2nm). The role supports delivery of high-speed, low-power, high-density memory IP used across server, mobile and IoT SoCs.

Experience Level

Mid-level. 2–5 years of experience in memory design or characterization is preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design and validation of memory IP and supporting flows.

  • Design, margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances (single-port, dual-port SRAM, register files).
  • Prepare and validate multiple views: Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
  • Use EDA tools for development and verification; support characterization and tapeout readiness.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting to support flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, power and area targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal qualities. Optional items are noted.

  • Proven experience with SRAM and fundamental digital circuit concepts.
  • Good understanding of device physics relevant to memory design.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL) and practical use of AI tools in workflows.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools and memory views (Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF, GDS).
  • Strong problem solving, debugging skills and analytical reasoning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Nice to have: understanding of computer architecture.
