Job Title
Design Engineer (Level 4)
Role Summary
Senior digital design engineer responsible for architecture, RTL implementation, verification, and delivery of digital IP or system-level features. Works within a hardware design team to drive projects from specification through silicon/FPGA validation and supports cross-functional integration.
Experience Level
Senior. Specific years of experience not specified in the source.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system/component design, verification, and delivery tasks:
- Define and implement digital architecture and microarchitecture to meet product requirements.
- Develop and maintain RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and associated verification environments and testbenches.
- Perform synthesis, timing closure, and prepare constraints for implementation and signoff.
- Integrate IP, coordinate simulations, and support FPGA prototyping and board bring-up.
- Debug functional and timing issues across RTL, simulation, and hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (verification, physical design, firmware, system engineering) and document design decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process and methodology improvements.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and desirable experiences. Items labeled "Must-have" indicate core expectations; "Nice-to-have" items are beneficial but not required.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in digital ASIC/FPGA design and delivery including RTL coding and verification (SystemVerilog/Verilog).
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with synthesis, static timing analysis, and implementation flow.
-
Must-have: Experience with FPGA prototyping, bring-up, and hardware debug.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with scripting for automation and debug (e.g., Python, Tcl) and use of common EDA tools.
-
Must-have: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with SoC integration, high-speed interfaces, low-power design techniques, or formal verification.
Education Requirements
