Design Engineer II
Cadence Design SystemsJob Title
Design Engineer II
Role Summary
Join the Methodology & Flow Enablement Group as a Foundry PDK Design Enablement Engineer. You will enable and validate PDK components, perform DTCO and technology studies, and develop automation to support advanced semiconductor technology nodes.
Work closely with process technology, PDK development, and DTCO teams to improve power, performance, and area for standard cells, SRAM and custom circuits. Were doing work that matters.
Experience Level
Mid-level 24 years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include PDK enablement, technology benchmarking, automation, and collaboration with DTCO teams.
- Validate, deploy, and maintain PDK components for advanced nodes (LVS, DRC, parasitic extraction, transistor-level Spice models).
- Conduct technology studies and benchmark standard cells, SRAM, and custom circuits to optimize power, performance, and area (PPA).
- Develop and maintain scripts and automated flows for PDK enablement, validation, and analysis.
- Perform device-level electrical studies and parasitic extraction analysis.
- Collaborate with DTCO and PDK development teams to enable new device architectures (e.g., GAA, FinFET).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 24 years of hands-on experience in foundry PDK enablement, semiconductor technology analysis, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of CMOS device physics and advanced device architectures (GAA, FinFET, planar MOSFETs).
- Deep knowledge of LVS, DRC, parasitic extraction, and transistor-level Spice modeling.
- Proficiency in scripting and developing automation for EDA/PDK flows.
- Experience collaborating with PDK development, technology enablement, or benchmarking teams.
- Familiarity with Cadence tool suites is preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience considered.
