Job Title

Design Engineer, HBM DFT

Role Summary

Joining the Design for Test (DFT) Engineering team, you will support design, integration, and validation of DFT features for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products. The role focuses on enabling testability, aiding silicon bring-up, and supporting yield ramp through DFT implementation and debug.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0–3 years of relevant experience, internships, or research experience in ASIC/SoC design, DFT, or verification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include implementing and validating DFT features, supporting test infrastructure, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Assist with scan insertion and integration of DFT features: test modes, clocks, resets, and clock control.
  • Support hierarchical DFT integration for multi-channel or replicated HBM structures; help implement IJTAG and P1500 functionality.
  • Run and debug DFT checks such as scan DRC, chain integrity, and X-propagation in test modes.
  • Support simulation and debug activities including ATPG readiness, test-mode sequencing, and MBIST validation for selected memories.
  • Collaborate with RTL, DV, PD, and Product/Test Engineering teams to resolve integration issues and participate in build reviews.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and team-fit expectations.

  • Basic understanding of digital design fundamentals: sequential logic, clocks/resets, and timing concepts.
  • Experience or familiarity with synthesizable RTL such as SystemVerilog or Verilog.
  • Ability to support DFT implementation, validation, and debug tasks in a team environment.
  • Good problem-solving and collaboration skills; readiness to learn from senior engineers.
  • Preferred: Basic familiarity with DFT concepts (scan, MBIST, boundary-scan/JTAG), exposure to DFT tools or methodologies, and knowledge of ATPG preparation or gate-level simulation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. Internships or research experience in ASIC/SoC design, DFT, or verification are considered relevant.
