Job Title

Design Engineer - DRAM Technology and Products

Role Summary

Design and validate DRAM memory circuits and supporting blocks from schematic through layout and silicon validation. Work on projects to design, fabricate, optimize, and validate memory circuit solutions while supporting advanced semiconductor technology development.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No specific years-of-experience requirement stated.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design, simulation, layout, and validation of DRAM-related circuits and blocks.

  • Design, layout, and optimize memory circuits for performance, power, area, and manufacturability.
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis (e.g., SPICE, Verilog) to validate functionality and debug issues.
  • Develop and support schematic blocks: memory arrays, control logic, address decoders, datapaths, and internal test circuitry.
  • Evaluate architecture tradeoffs and include layout parasitics in analysis to ensure silicon success.
  • Drive test chip development and silicon validation; incorporate findings into next-design iterations.
  • Apply automation and AI-enabled methods to improve design methodologies and workflows.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and core skills.

  • Basic understanding of memory array architectures, circuits, and operation.
  • Strong understanding of circuit simulation setup, analysis, and debug techniques.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor device fundamentals and integrated circuit design principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration and reporting.

Preferred (nice-to-have):

  • Experience with SPICE, Verilog, or similar circuit design and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of layout parasitic extraction and integration into simulation environments.
  • Experience with silicon validation, test chip development, or Design for Manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled approaches or agentic AI tools to engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher, or equivalent practical experience. Fields referenced: Electrical Engineering. (Equivalent experience accepted.)
