Semiconductor IP Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of Arm's Physical IP Division working on Memory IP (SRAM) for advanced process nodes. The role focuses on design, margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances used in SoCs across applications from servers to mobile and IoT.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting expects roughly 2–5 years of experience in memory design or characterization.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include end-to-end memory instance development and verification across multiple technology views and flows.

  • Design, margining and characterization of SRAM and register-file memory instances.
  • Verification and release of memory IP (supporting views such as Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS).
  • Use and validation of EDA tools within the memory development flow.
  • Develop and apply automation and scripting to accelerate verification and characterization.
  • Debugging, problem solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready instances.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional traits.

  • Proven experience in memory design or memory characterization (practical experience expected).
  • Strong understanding of SRAM behavior, digital-circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
  • Good knowledge of device physics as it relates to memory design and variability.
  • Familiarity with memory design views (e.g., Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF, GDS) and common EDA tools.
  • Working scripting skills (Shell, TCL) and experience applying automation in design/verification flows.
  • Good analytical, debugging and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
  • Nice-to-have: understanding of computer architecture and experience exploring AI-assisted flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering (or closely related electrical/electronic discipline) is specified in the posting.
