Role Summary

Join Intel Foundry Automation supporting government programs to install, maintain, and support front-end and back-end design environments, EDA tools, PDKs, and compute resources for external foundry customers. The role focuses on enabling design teams to reach TapeOut by providing automation, tooling support, and cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities are listed below.

• Troubleshoot and resolve designer tool and methodology issues on the path to TapeOut.
• Provide ramp-up support through training, documentation, and onboarding for design teams.
• Work with EDA vendors to ensure tool features meet project needs and quality standards.
• Partner with PDK/library experts, flow development teams, and product design teams to integrate flows.
• Collaborate with engineering compute (EC) teams to provision and debug compute, storage, and batch systems.
• Develop automation (installation scripts, checkers, etc.) for PDKs, EDA tools, licenses, and flows.
• Integrate new tools and methodologies into existing workflows to ensure scalable adoption.
• Communicate effectively across teams and maintain high quality standards in deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security, and environment experience.

• US Citizenship and ability to obtain US Government TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience with EDA tools and methodologies, including debugging and problem solving for front-end and back-end flows.
• Experience in physical design, optimization, and Tools/Flows/Methodology (TFM).
• Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL and scripting languages: Tcl, Perl, Python.
• Linux experience (bash, tcsh) and familiarity with compute environments (storage, compute, netbatch/ION-like systems).
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on experience installing industry-standard front-end and back-end EDA tools.
• Experience installing foundry PDKs and flows (e.g., Cheetah) and related flow integration.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Prior design automation and debugging experience in a foundry/PDK context.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
