Role Summary

This role involves leading the architecture and design of silicon systems for novel Life Sciences platforms, applying expertise in silicon technologies such as analog, mixed-signal, and digital CMOS to innovate in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining system requirements with a skilled multi-disciplinary team.
  • Developing system simulation models in MATLAB or Python environments.
  • Creating and testing pre-CMOS evaluation prototypes.
  • Designing overall architecture for integrated circuits.
  • Collaborating with the team on detailed circuit design and post-CMOS fabrication requirements.
  • Cooperating with biologists and engineers to ensure system meets specified requirements.
  • Conducting research in new physical sciences relevant to the technologies.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or master’s/bachelor’s degree with additional industrial experience).
  • Experience leading CMOS tapeouts from architecture to evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability across physical disciplines such as biomedical, chemical, and electrical engineering.
  • Track record of innovation or publications in electronic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CMOS architectures, signal processing, or cleanroom processes.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor assembly or packaging technologies.
  • Interest in Biological Sciences.
  • Hands-on technical skills while keeping a research-oriented mindset.

Education Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, or relevant industrial experience with a master's/bachelor's degree.
