Job Title
Data Scientist
Role Summary
Join the Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing (APTM) Yield organization to develop AI/ML and agentic AI solutions for semiconductor assembly yield modeling and manufacturing data analytics. The role focuses on building proof-of-concept and production-capable systems that extract insights from high-volume manufacturing data and improve yield.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience: bachelor’s degree + 6+ years, master’s + 5+ years, or PhD + 3+ years (see Education Requirements for details).
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and validating AI/ML and agentic AI systems to support yield improvement and manufacturing analytics.
- Develop proofs of concept and prototypes for predictive yield models, analytics, and computer vision solutions.
- Design and architect agentic AI solutions for yield modeling and manufacturing analytics, including agent orchestration, multi-agent coordination, RAG pipelines, and system deployment strategies.
- Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases and integrate LLM-based components into analytics workflows.
- Collaborate with yield analysts and cross-functional partners to translate manufacturing problems into system requirements and scalable solutions.
- Build data pipelines, ETL processes, and front-end/back-end components for data visualization and operational use.
- Contribute to CI/CD, version control, and automated deployment of models and services.
- Communicate technical findings and influence stakeholders; operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Requirements
Key technical requirements and preferred skills.
Must-have:
- 2+ years working with LLMs and autonomous AI/multi-agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen) and experience implementing RAG pipelines with vector databases.
- 2+ years applying AI/ML, agentic AI, deep learning, or computer vision (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV) to large datasets and deriving business-impacting insights.
- 2+ years Python programming for back-end and front-end pipeline development, including data parsing and ETL.
- Experience developing data visualization or UI frameworks (e.g., Streamlit, Flask) and integrating with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and APIs (e.g., FastAPI).
- Experience with software engineering best practices: Git, CI/CD, and automated deployment.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in manufacturing or the semiconductor industry applying AI/ML to yield problems.
- Familiarity with Intel package assembly manufacturing data or similar production data landscapes.
Education Requirements
Degree requirement options: Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in Computer Science, Data Science, or any other Engineering discipline.
