Customer Support Engineer — i.MX Applications Processors
Role Summary
Provide technical support and guidance to customers worldwide using NXP i.MX application processors. Serve as the primary technical contact to troubleshoot issues, review designs, and accelerate customer time-to-market.
Work within the Technical Information Center and collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to improve products, documentation, and the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical support, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide technical support to customers designing with i.MX processors via email, online tools, and phone.
- Become a recognized technical expert on i.MX solutions within the Mass Market segment.
- Promptly follow up on customer inquiries, issues, and complaints to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and improve NXP offerings.
- Contribute to development and revision of product documentation, FAQs, and application notes.
- Support technical trainings and assist customers in developing their applications.
- Review customer schematics and PCB layouts to identify and advise on potential issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Embedded software/firmware application development experience.
- Proficiency in C; Java is a plus.
- Good Linux and/or RTOS programming skills; embedded Linux experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of common embedded interfaces: UART, SPI, I²C, SDIO, USB, and network interfaces.
- Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and/or microprocessors.
- Ability to read and review schematics and PCB layouts.
- Excellent English and Spanish communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Collaborative, proactive, self-motivated team player with strong responsibility and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and drive results.
Nice-to-have:
- Embedded Linux/Android development experience (kernel modules, device drivers, Yocto).
- Familiarity with NXP i.MX development boards.
- Knowledge of software design, coding, and testing best practices.
- ML/AI experience (object/facial recognition, voice control).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or Electronic Information Engineering — or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies a minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience as an alternative to a degree.
