Job Title

Customer Applications Development Engineer — MACH (Hillsboro/Beaverton)

Role Summary

Support semiconductor customers using MACH Analytics software to optimize lithography processes, deploy and validate new product modules, and resolve hardware/software issues. Work onsite with customers and collaborate with product, systems, and engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance and enable product adoption.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Experience guidance from the posting: PhD holders may be eligible with 0 years; Master’s typically 3 years; Bachelor’s typically 5 years.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advise and support customers on lithography process optimization and structural improvements.
  • Deploy, evaluate, and validate MACH Analytics software and new modules onsite, including characterization, alpha/beta testing, and pilot tool support.
  • Design and implement product applications and Best Known Methods; create application notes and technical documentation.
  • Develop and execute test plans, collect and analyze data, and publish results and recommendations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; coordinate with systems and software engineering teams.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical training to customers and internal teams to support sales and adoption.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry with a strong focus on lithography.
  • Hands-on experience with exposure tools is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication and customer-focused skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at customer facilities and travel domestically and internationally (~25% target).

Nice-to-have:

  • Python prototyping/programming skills.
  • Experience with plasma etch, CVD, or PVD processes.

Education Requirements

University degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related natural science discipline. Minimum qualifications listed in the posting: Doctorate (PhD) — 0 years related experience; Master’s — 3 years; Bachelor’s — 5 years.
