Custom Layout Design Engineer II

Role Summary

The Custom Layout Design Engineer II is responsible for various aspects of custom layout design, particularly focused on high-speed mixed-signal PHYs such as SerDes, USB, and DDR. This role involves collaboration with the analog circuit design team to ensure high efficiency and quality in analog layout design.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring 4+ years of applicable experience in analog/custom layout of advanced technology nodes.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

• Developing custom layout floorplans, matching guides, and managing signal routing to reduce coupling and noise.
• Creating top-level hierarchy floorplans for blocks and power components.
• Conducting DRC/LVS/ERC analysis and EMIR analysis, and recommending solutions.
• Working effectively with the analog circuit design team.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• BSEE degree.
• 4+ years of applicable experience in analog/custom layout.
• Proficiency with Layout edit/verify tools (Virtuoso XL, Pegasus/Calibre DRC/LVS).
• Hands-on experience with EMIR tools (Voltus-FI).
• Good teamwork and self-motivation skills.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Experience in PERC run, FinFET layout, ESD/Latch-up, and cooperation with digital P&R team is a plus.

Education Requirements

BSEE degree required.
