CPU Verification Fellow, RISC-V High-Performance Processor
TenstorrentJob Title
CPU Verification Fellow, RISC-V High-Performance Processor
Role Summary
Lead verification strategy and execution for next-generation RISC-V high-performance superscalar CPUs. Own verification planning and delivery across simulation, formal verification, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and silicon bring-up, and coordinate across architecture, RTL, firmware, compiler, SoC, and validation teams.
This is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Fellow). The team seeks a senior technical leader with deep CPU verification experience; specific years of experience are not listed.
Responsibilities
Drive verification strategy, implement scalable methodology, and lead cross-functional execution from early design to tapeout and post-silicon validation.
- Define and own verification strategy for out-of-order, speculative, superscalar CPU cores and CPU subsystems.
- Build and scale verification plans, constrained-random environments, checkers, assertions, scoreboards, and coverage-driven tests.
- Lead development of CPU reference models, instruction generators, ISS-based checking, and differential testing frameworks.
- Direct use of formal verification, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and silicon bring-up to achieve verification closure.
- Drive bug triage, root-cause analysis, coverage closure, and tapeout readiness.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL, firmware, compiler, SoC, and validation teams and mentor senior engineers to establish best practices.
Requirements
Concise list of required skills and desirable experience.
- Must-have: Deep experience verifying high-performance superscalar CPUs, ideally including out-of-order and speculative microarchitectures.
- Must-have: Strong RISC-V knowledge: ISA compliance, privileged architecture, virtual memory, atomics, vector extensions, and memory model behavior.
- Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, constrained-random verification, assertions, functional coverage, and advanced debug methodologies.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with CPU reference models, instruction generators, ISS-based checking, differential testing, and large-scale CPU verification environments.
- Must-have: Practical experience with formal verification and integrating formal methods into CPU verification flows.
- Must-have: Proven ability to lead verification strategy, scale teams, and work cross-functionally.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, FPGA prototyping, silicon bring-up, tapeout readiness, performance modeling, compilers, or SoC-level verification.
- Requirement: Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; may require U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an applicable federal license.
Education Requirements
