CPU Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of AMD's Cores organization responsible for functional verification of L2 and L3 cache subsystems from block level through full-chip integration. Work closely with RTL design, architecture, and physical design teams to deliver thorough verification.
Work contributes to the development of high-performance processors.

Responsibilities
Primary duties include designing and executing verification environments and tests, debugging failures, and driving coverage closure.
- Perform functional verification of L2 and L3 cache subsystems at block and full-chip levels.
- Build and maintain C++ verification environments, reference models, checkers, and scoreboards.
- Develop C and assembly test programs to validate cache behavior and expose corner cases.
- Debug failing tests to root cause and work with design engineers to drive resolution.
- Develop test plans and contribute to coverage closure.
- Apply AI-assisted tools and workflows as part of the verification practice.
- Collaborate closely with RTL design, architecture, and physical design teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong C++ programming skills and experience building verification infrastructure.
- Experience with functional verification on CPU, GPU, or complex ASIC/SoC designs.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture and cache memory systems.
- Experience developing C and assembly test programs.
- Proficiency in Python or Perl for test automation and analysis.
- Familiarity with industry-standard RTL simulation and debug tools.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills; ability to drive issues to resolution.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred. The posting states this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
