CPU Physical Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on CPU physical design within Qualcomm's CPU Engineering team in Austin. The role contributes to development, verification, and implementation of multi-core CPU blocks, focusing on performance, power, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities
Key duties include design, verification, and documentation of CPU physical implementations and collaboration across functional teams.
- Apply computer architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, circuit and physical design knowledge to CPU development and verification.
- Identify and resolve routine design problems to meet functionality, power, and performance targets.
- Collaborate on requirements, specifications, and trade-offs (performance, power, cost, features).
- Support design flow from architecture and pre-silicon verification through post-silicon validation.
- Write technical documentation: feature descriptions, architecture notes, verification plans, and implementation details.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience.
- Must-have: Familiarity with computer architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, and physical design concepts; good verbal and written communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with high-level programming (C, C++), scripting (Perl, Python), or similar languages.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with synthesis, place-and-route, and design verification tools.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with simulation, emulation, formal verification, or silicon validation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience creating functional models, checkers, test plans, or test generation.
Education Requirements
