Job Title

CPU HVM Functional-Test Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the DFT (Design for Test) team to validate DFT for manufacturing functional testing and deliver functional test content for Intel CPU IP designs targeted for high-volume manufacturing.

The role partners closely with CPU architecture, SoC design, and manufacturing teams to find, reproduce, and resolve pre-silicon functional and test issues.

Experience Level

Entry-level (2+ years of relevant experience is expected).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validating DFT and developing tests to ensure manufacturing goals are met.

  • Validate DFT for manufacturing functional testing.
  • Develop functional tests to qualify manufacturing goals for next-generation CPU IP designs.
  • Use fault-simulator to measure coverage effectiveness and identify test gaps.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug test or design issues in pre-silicon environments.
  • Implement corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborate with CPU architecture, SoC design, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Strong scripting and programming in Python, Perl, and C/C++.
  • Must-have: Robust understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture fundamentals.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM and experience debugging micro-architecture issues in pre-silicon environments.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Must-have: Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and innovate.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with TAP (Test Access Port).
  • Nice-to-have: ASIC or FPGA design verification experience, especially with x86 CPU designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Post-silicon validation/debug background and prior use of fault-simulator.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is specified; PhD is also referenced in the qualifications. (Degrees are required as stated in the posting.)
