Job Title
CPU DFT Manager
Role Summary
Manage and technically lead a Distributed Fault Test (DFT) team responsible for X86 CPU DFT design and validation. The role drives implementation and verification of on-chip test infrastructure (JTAG, memory BIST, memory repair) and coordinates DFT activities across projects and sites.
Experience Level
Senior β requires significant domain experience (see Requirements). The posting specifies 10+ years in the DFT domain and 5+ years of people/technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Lead a DFT organization and deliver DFT features across multiple CPU projects while coordinating with global teams.
- Manage and provide technical direction to a high-performing DFT team focused on X86 CPU DFT design and validation.
- Develop and execute detailed plans for parallel activities across multiple projects to meet delivery timelines and quality targets.
- Design and implement JTAG, memory BIST, and memory repair (BIRA/BISR) circuitry using industry-standard tools.
- Drive DFT verification for scan, memory arrays, and DFD using RTL simulation and emulation flows.
- Create verification plans and tests to validate microarchitecture blocks using specs and RTL.
- Debug failures to root cause; collaborate with post-silicon and manufacturing teams on ATE testing and issue resolution.
- Coordinate cross-functional and cross-site stakeholders to align timelines, deliverables, and DFT strategies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership capabilities for immediate contribution to CPU DFT programs.
- 10+ years of experience in the DFT domain at IP or SoC level.
- 5+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience with Spyglass DFT and industry-standard DFT tools.
- Hands-on implementation experience with JTAG, Memory BIST, and Memory Repair (BIRA/BISR) circuitry.
- Experience in DFT design and verification using RTL simulations and emulation.
- Understanding of timing constraints and DFT mode timing analysis.
- Proficiency in RTL coding and shell scripting.
- Experience collaborating with post-silicon/manufacturing teams on ATE, debugging, and issue resolution.
- Familiarity with X86 CPU architecture and microarchitecture.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-site collaboration.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with advanced process nodes and hierarchical DFT strategies.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
