CPU Design Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's CPU team to develop methodologies, automation, and RTL-integration tooling that enable efficient SoC creation and chip builds. You will work across ASIC, physical design, CAD, package, software, and DFT teams to improve front-end implementation flows and scale chip development.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of ASIC/chip design experience with a focus on SoC integration and design automation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define and develop system-level methodologies and tools to build SoCs efficiently and at scale.
  • Identify front-end implementation inefficiencies and design automation opportunities; propose solutions.
  • Own front-end RTL quality checks and reviews to provide high-quality RTL to physical design.
  • Integrate and validate RTL within SoC integration flows and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, physical design, CAD, package, software, and DFT teams during chip build and assembly.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of chip design experience focused on SoC integration and design automation.
  • Experience with RTL design (Verilog) and verification (UVM, SystemVerilog).
  • Familiarity with SoC design/integration flows and design automation tools.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills (Perl, Python, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and good interpersonal skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with synthesis and physical design.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is listed as preferred; equivalent practical experience is accepted.
