Job Title

CPU Design and Verification Student Worker

Role Summary

Join the E-Core CPU pre-silicon verification team in Guadalajara to validate RTL implementations of new and existing CPU microarchitecture features. Work focuses on simulation- and formal-based verification to identify and close design bugs before silicon.

The role reports to the CPU verification team and involves cross-site collaboration with design engineers and micro-architects to produce high-quality test plans, testbenches, and coverage artifacts.

Experience Level

Entry-level (student / intern). This position is for candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with hands-on or academic exposure to digital design and verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing pre-silicon verification activities and developing testbench components.

  • Develop pre-silicon validation test plans and test scenarios to verify correctness of designs.
  • Implement simulation components: BFMs, trackers, checkers, scoreboards, and testbenches.
  • Run and debug digital simulations; identify, document, and drive closure of bugs.
  • Create and maintain functional coverage and work to achieve coverage goals.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, micro-architects, and cross-site teams to refine tests and coverage.
  • Deliver high-quality work under deadlines and adapt to feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools knowledge, and administrative conditions required to perform the role.

  • At least ~4 months' exposure to digital design, ASIC design flow, or computer architecture.
  • Experience with programming/scripting (examples: C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby, Unix/Linux).
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog).
  • Basic pre-silicon validation experience with logic simulators (e.g., ModelSim, VCS, Xilinx/Quartus flows) and debugging skills.
  • English: advanced level (reading and communication for technical work).
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico; role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Administrative requirement for hired candidates in Mexico: provide Mexican Social Security Number (NSS), Tax ID (RFC), and CURP.

Nice-to-have: basic testbench development experience and functional coverage implementation.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with at least one year remaining before graduation.
