CPU Circuit Design Lead

Role Summary

Lead circuit-design analysis and methodology development for memory blocks and datapath subsystems within the P-Core design team (ACE India). The role focuses on enabling high-frequency (>5 GHz), low-power digital memory designs and coordinating implementation from architecture through post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Senior — position expects senior-level experience (Master's +8 years or Bachelor's +10 years as specified by employer).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define and enable design methodologies for memory blocks and datapath subsystems to meet >5 GHz frequency, low power, and optimal area targets.
• Lead design and circuit-level analysis for various memory types (SRAM, register files, ROM).
• Perform static timing analysis and contribute to timing closure.
• Collaborate closely with layout, floorplanning, and physical implementation teams.
• Drive back-end implementation of new features and design changes.
• Lead post-silicon memory analysis, debug, and validation activities.
• Assess and mitigate effects of statistical variation on memory and datapath designs.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred:

• Must-have: Proven expertise in memory circuit design (SRAM, register files, ROM) and high-speed, low-power digital design; strong static timing analysis skills; experience with post-silicon memory analysis and debug; ability to work with layout and floorplanning teams; strong verbal and written communication.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with synthesis and place-and-route tools; familiarity with Verilog; scripting experience (Tcl, Perl, Python); understanding of SPICE simulations and analysis.

Education Requirements

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with at least 8 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of related experience. Fields specified: Electrical or Computer Engineering. (Years-of-experience requirements were provided by the employer.)
