Role Summary

As a Corporate Application Consultant on the Application Engineering team you will advise semiconductor customers deploying Tessent technologies, diagnose complex DFT and test issues across advanced SoC designs, and help customers adopt and optimize test flows.

This role combines customer-facing technical support, on-site/hybrid engagements from Bangalore, and collaboration with R&D to improve product capabilities and customer productivity.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Typically requires 6+ years of experience in semiconductor design, DFT implementation, silicon validation, test engineering, or EDA applications engineering.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include customer engagement, technical debugging, and enabling adoption of Tessent test flows.

• Act as a technical advisor and subject-matter expert for customers deploying Tessent across SoC and semiconductor designs.
• Train customers and architect, debug, and optimize DFT methodologies throughout the silicon lifecycle.
• Drive customer success by enabling efficient adoption of flows to meet quality, coverage, yield, and time-to-market objectives.
• Lead root-cause analysis and debugging across RTL, gate-level, post-silicon, and tester environments.
• Collaborate with R&D to diagnose issues, influence product improvements, and accelerate customer productivity.
• Develop technical training, methodologies, and knowledge assets for global customer support.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the global application engineering community.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor design, DFT implementation, silicon validation, test engineering, or EDA applications engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of Design-for-Test methodologies, including 1149.x Boundary-Scan, MemoryBIST, IJTAG, ATPG, compression, and silicon diagnosis across complex SoC designs.
• Hands-on experience debugging RTL, gate-level, post-silicon, and tester issues.
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and scripting (Tcl, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent customer-facing communication and presentation abilities.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Tessent tools and methodologies.
• Exposure to AI, HPC, Automotive, Networking, Mobile, or consumer SoCs.
• Familiarity with synthesis, timing, verification, and physical implementation flows.
• Previous experience in customer-facing Application Engineering, Consulting, or Technical Support roles.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (as stated in the posting).
