Job Title

Core Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Performs functional verification of CPU logic, develops and executes verification plans and environments, and collaborates with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams to ensure designs meet functional, performance, and power requirements. This on-site role supports CPU microarchitecture and IP verification within the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group.

Focuses on pre-silicon validation, debugging, and improving verification infrastructure to find and resolve design issues before tape-out.

Experience Level

Entry-level / College graduate. Relevant verification experience is expected; specific years not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities, debugging pre-silicon issues, and maintaining verification infrastructure.

  • Develop IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environments to achieve coverage against CPU microarchitecture specifications.
  • Execute verification plans and run system simulations to verify functional correctness, performance, power, and timing.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug issues in the pre-silicon environment; implement and validate corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with CPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to verify complex architectural and microarchitectural features.
  • Document test plans and drive technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintain and improve functional verification methodology and infrastructure.
  • Participate in defining architecture and microarchitecture features for the CPU design.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.

  • Must-have: Proven experience in ASIC or FPGA design verification.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with verification languages and methodologies such as SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Must-have: Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, C/C++).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with verification tools, simulation environments, and debugging techniques.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with CPU or E-Core designs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (as specified in the posting).
