Computer Vision Algorithm Developer
Role Summary
Develop and implement computer-vision and AI algorithms for optical metrology systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. Work in an R&D team collaborating with experts in AI, optics and semiconductor processes to deliver algorithms from concept through on-tool integration.
Focus areas include image processing, algorithm research, data analysis and product-level implementation for high-precision measurement systems.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in AI and image processing.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead research and development of advanced computer-vision and machine-learning algorithms for optical metrology.
- Translate concepts into working implementations and integrate algorithms onto measurement tools.
- Analyze diverse imaging data sets and validate algorithm performance against quantitative metrics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (optics, hardware, software, product) to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Drive the full algorithm lifecycle: feasibility, prototyping, optimization, and deployment.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: 3+ years practical experience in AI and image processing; strong Python skills for algorithm development.
- Must-have: Proven experience developing, testing, and optimizing vision/ML algorithms and working with image datasets.
- Nice-to-have: Background in optical systems or microscopy.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in the semiconductor industry or working with on-tool integration.
- Motivation and ability to grow into technical leadership roles.
Education Requirements
Required: MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
