Compute System Arch AI Infra Intern - 2027
Role Summary
Internship on the Compute System Architect team in Shanghai. The team covers the compute pipeline, memory system, multi-GPU and CPU interconnects and focuses on pre- and post-silicon full-chip validation.
The intern will work with a mentor to design, implement and verify AI infrastructure and tooling that integrates with the team's existing flows, and deliver documentation and a final project report.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship intended for current students or recent graduates. Suitable for candidates with project or practical experience in AI development and software/infra integration.
Responsibilities
Primary tasks and deliverables for the internship:
- Learn the team's compute system architecture and existing AI infrastructure and flows.
- Gather and document AI infra requirements from users and stakeholders.
- Co-design the AI infrastructure with a mentor; propose and review design decisions.
- Implement the AI infra components according to the approved design.
- Collect and run test cases to verify the implementation on available platforms.
- Document the implementation and user feedback; deliver a summary report at project end.
- Discuss and propose iterative improvements with the mentor and team.
Requirements
Core skills and experience expected for successful candidates.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience building AI-integrated flows or tooling.
- Nice-to-have: experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or AI agents; knowledge of GPU architecture or full-chip verification.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Master’s or PhD candidates are also considered and are a plus.
