Component & Module Ops Manager - Senior Manager
Role Summary
Manage component and module development, supplier interactions, and production readiness for Renesas power modules. Lead cross-functional teams (packaging, assembly engineering, procurement, manufacturing design and test) to specify, develop, qualify, and launch modules and PCB assemblies.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership, supplier and project coordination, and production support for high-power module development.
- Coordinate with packaging groups and internal business units to align module requirements and schedules.
- Partner with procurement and external vendors/OSATs to place POs, manage deliveries, and ensure on-time builds.
- Specify, develop, and qualify components and PCB assemblies for modules; ensure documentation is complete and current.
- Perform material planning, scheduling, expediting, tracking, and inventory control for R&D and NPI activities.
- Identify critical paths, propose risk mitigation and contingency plans for delays.
- Drive parts standardization, 2nd-source selection, and technology insertion into designs.
- Work on component cost-down efforts with purchasing, production, and design engineering.
- Train product teams on component utilization, design practices, and BOM management to improve NPI outcomes.
- Visit suppliers periodically to assess quality systems, process control, and capabilities.
- Generate regular management reports on costs, efficiency, inventory, and schedule status.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- At least 10 years of experience in component engineering and assembly engineering focused on high-power module development and production.
- Hands-on knowledge of advanced packaging processes and PCB assemblies.
- Experience interfacing with external vendors and OSATs; procurement and supplier management experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definitions.
- Experience with material planning systems, inventory tracking, purchase requests, and logistics coordination.
- Experience with parts standardization, technology insertion, and selecting second sources.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE) is specified.
