Job Title

Coherent Interconnect Power Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Arm System IP Power team to lead power methodology and tooling for coherent interconnect IP. The role focuses on power measurement, projection, analysis, and delivering power-efficient design guidance to logic and implementation teams.

The engineer will work cross-functionally with architecture, design, implementation, performance, verification, and SoC teams to meet PPA (power, performance, area) goals for interconnect IP.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requires practical experience with power methodology, EDA power tools, and end-to-end PPA optimization in complex VLSI designs. No explicit years-of-experience range stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of IP power, planning and executing power tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet PPA requirements.

  • Own power for the coherent interconnect IP and coordinate power-related activities across the project.
  • Plan, implement, track, and coordinate power tasks to meet PPA targets.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Implementation, and SoC teams to define PPA goals and low-power techniques.
  • Develop and deliver power measurement and analysis processes for IP power estimation and projection; roll up results into SoC power budgets.
  • Improve and implement power methodology across the System IP group and wider Arm design community.
  • Provide technical direction and mentor junior engineers on power methodology and analysis.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Proven record of delivering high-quality, low-power, complex micro-architecture and RTL implementations and driving PPA optimization cycles.
  • Experience with modern EDA power tools and power measurement/analysis techniques.
  • Micro-architecture experience in fabric, interconnect, and bridge design.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as AMBA CHI and/or AXI, CXL, or CHI C2C.
  • Experience with synthesis and static timing analysis.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.) and Unix/Linux development environments, shells, and Makefiles.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with PCI Express (PCIe) and DDR.
  • Knowledge of transaction ordering, virtualization, MMUs, cache coherence, and host bridge functions.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
