Job Title

Coherent Fabric Design Engineer

Role Summary

The engineer will join the System IP Coherent Interconnect design team to develop scalable, configurable high-performance fabric (mesh) IP for hyperscale, AI infrastructure, IoT and automotive markets. The role focuses on RTL logic design, power/performance/area (PPA) tradeoffs, and delivering silicon-quality IP.

The role requires cross-team collaboration with verification, implementation, performance and project management to deliver on milestones and product quality goals.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on RTL design and delivery activities, task planning, and cross-discipline collaboration.

  • Design and implement RTL using SystemVerilog for coherent fabric/interconnect components.
  • Plan, track and coordinate tasks to meet milestones and quality targets.
  • Collaborate with verification, implementation, power and performance teams to resolve functional and performance issues.
  • Debug designs using simulation and debug tools to identify functional or performance bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to and improve design methodology and best practices across the System IP group.

Requirements

Concise list of must-have skills and relevant additional capabilities.

  • Must-have: Experience with fabric and interconnect design; knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as AMBA CHI and/or AXI.
  • Must-have: Proven RTL design skills and familiarity with low-power design considerations and PPA tradeoffs.
  • Must-have: Ability to work with cross-functional teams (verification, implementation, power, performance) and deliver to schedule with high quality.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with PCI Express (PCIe), Ethernet, DDR.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of transaction ordering, virtualization, MMUs, cache coherence and host bridge functions.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with lint, synthesis, static timing analysis, DFT and understanding of physical design and verification methods.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Perl, Ruby, etc.) and strong Unix/Linux tooling and Makefile competence.
  • Must-have: Right to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
