Coherency Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on the Verification Team to ensure correctness and functionality of complex RTL designs implementing coherent memory systems. The role focuses on verifying coherency protocols and cache behavior using SystemVerilog/UVM, simulation and formal techniques.

Position is based in Barcelona, Spain. Visa sponsorship is available if required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verifying coherent systems at block, subsystem and top levels and driving verification closure.

• Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and verification environments.
• Plan and execute regression suites; automate flows with scripts and regression tools.
• Verify coherency protocols (including CHI) and cache structures/parameters.
• Use simulators and formal tools for dynamic and formal verification.
• Debug RTL issues, perform root-cause analysis, and report defects clearly.
• Collaborate with architects, RTL designers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain version control, verification documentation and test plans.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

• 8+ years industrial experience in hardware verification (block/sub-system/top-level).
• Proven proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Experience with simulation tools and formal verification methods.
• Knowledge of scripting languages and automation (Python, Perl, Bash, TCL) and regression tooling.
• Familiarity with revision control workflows and tools (git, svn).
• Practical experience verifying coherent systems and understanding cache structures and parameters.
• Knowledge of the CHI protocol.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork skills; English proficiency at C1 level.
