CMOS FEOL Reliability Principal Engineer (2027 New College Graduate)

Role Summary

Support CMOS FEOL reliability qualification, reliability physics, and lifetime modeling for advanced semiconductor technologies at the Malta, NY site. Execute qualification plans, analyze failure mechanisms, and collaborate cross-functionally to enable product qualification and release.

Entry-level - New college graduate (2027).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include qualification execution, reliability analysis, modeling, and cross-functional technical support.

  • Support reliability qualification planning and execution for advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Analyze reliability mechanisms (HCI, BTI, TDDB, dielectric breakdown, SRAM, non-volatile memory, power-device reliability).
  • Develop and review reliability models, lifetime extrapolations, and statistical analyses.
  • Define and improve Process Reliability Monitoring strategies and data-analysis workflows.
  • Collaborate with Device Engineering, Process Integration, Product Engineering, Test, Failure Analysis, Manufacturing, and customer-facing teams to investigate issues and implement fixes.
  • Perform technical risk assessments and prepare data-driven recommendations for qualification readiness and product-release reviews.
  • Prepare qualification reports, reliability reviews, technical documentation, and presentations.
  • Develop or improve analytics, automation, and monitoring tools using JMP, Python, MATLAB, Excel, or equivalent platforms.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Academic, research, internship, or project experience in semiconductor reliability, device engineering, technology qualification, semiconductor physics, or data analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of CMOS reliability mechanisms, statistical analysis, and reliability lifetime projections.
  • Proficiency with data-analysis or scripting tools (Python, MATLAB, JMP, Excel, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written communication and teamwork abilities.
  • English fluency (written and verbal).

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience; demonstrated leadership in projects or teams.
  • Graduate-level research or project experience with advanced CMOS, FinFET or FDSOI platforms, SRAM, NVM, RF, analog, or power devices.
  • Knowledge of automotive reliability standards (AEC-Q100) and semiconductor qualification methodologies.
  • Experience with Process Reliability Monitoring, reliability model development, or customer-facing technical reviews.
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools and automation to improve workflows.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related technical field from an accredited program. Requires at least a 3.0 overall GPA and good academic standing. Position targeted to 2027 new college graduates.
