Job Title

Client Electrical Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Work on electrical validation of Intel client silicon to verify analog circuit performance, electrical signal integrity, and system-level margins. The role is hands-on in the lab and collaborates with architecture, design, and validation teams to ensure product reliability and manufacturability.

Team: Electrical Validation. Main mission: define and execute validation strategies for IO and mixed-signal features to meet production and industry specifications.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests approximately 2+ years of hands-on experience in relevant areas.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validating interfaces, developing test infrastructure, and resolving electrical failures.

  • Define electrical validation strategies for IO interfaces to achieve required analog performance and production goals.
  • Validate circuit analog performance, electrical signal integrity, and system-level margins against standards.
  • Design and develop validation procedures, infrastructure, and margin-analysis methodologies.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and triage of electrical and functional failures.
  • Test interactions among electrical design features using lab validation infrastructure and measurement equipment.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, and pre-silicon teams on DFT/DFM and validation planning.
  • Prepare validation specifications, evaluate IP, and produce comprehensive test reports.
  • Analyze returns and field data to improve yields and close test escapes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and conditions for consideration are listed below. Preferred skills are listed separately.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of hands-on experience in digital-analog design, CPU architecture or microarchitecture, and electrical validation/testing.
  • Proficient in scripting/programming (Python or C) for test automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with measurement equipment such as real-time or sampling oscilloscopes.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Ability to work on-site in Guadalajara.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with IO interfaces, high-speed/Bit Error Rate test equipment, high-frequency power supplies, assembly-level test development, and statistical/mathematical analysis tools (JMP, MATLAB).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. The posting also states that required skills may be obtained through a combination of industry experience, internships, and academic coursework, so equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
