Job Title

Circuit Validation Engineer Intern - 2027

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group (SCG) as an intern focused on post-silicon circuit validation and characterization for next-generation GPU ASICs. The role supports chip bring-up, hardware characterization, and automation of test and analysis workflows.

This is a hands-on engineering internship working closely with chip and board designers to validate hardware performance, power, yield, and readiness for production.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for students currently pursuing graduate-level studies (Master's or PhD); prior lab or silicon bring-up experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include post-silicon validation, data collection, and automation to support productization.

  • Perform new chip bring-up and characterize next-generation GPU ASICs in post-silicon.
  • Collaborate with chip and board designers to verify hardware meets design objectives and production requirements.
  • Develop tools to automate product definitions, data collection, test execution, and results analysis.
  • Analyze pre-production silicon for performance, power, yield, and quality; correlate results with simulations.
  • Define and implement post-silicon methodologies; provide design feedback based on silicon behavior.
  • Develop secure, traceable AI-assisted workflows for analysis, debug, and methodology automation with human oversight.

Requirements

Skills and experience expected for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, frequency and power characterization, and tester-to-system/simulation correlation.
  • Must-have: Practical lab experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, data-acquisition systems (DAQ), and other test equipment.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and collaboration skills.
  • Must-have: Programming or scripting experience (examples: Perl, C/C++, Python, MATLAB).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Power Integrity and Signal Integrity simulation and correlation with schematic/PCB design.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, LLM benchmarking, and engineering workflow automation.
  • Nice-to-have: Record of technical innovation such as shipped tools, debug systems, patents, or publications.
  • Knowledge areas: MOSFETs, LDOs, DC/DC converters, filters, digital design, timing and fault analysis, sampling, and computer architecture.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science, or related technical fields.
