Role Summary
Join the Circuit Design team in Austin for a summer internship focused on block-level physical design, RTL simulation, and performance benchmarking for standard-cell and memory IP. The role supports evaluation of process technologies and IP implementation quality for Edge AI and automotive applications.

Responsibilities
The intern will work on implementation and verification tasks to validate and benchmark IP across GF technologies.
- Perform block-level place-and-route for complex cores using standard-cell and memory-library IP.
- Run RTL simulation and verification flows to confirm correct core implementation and support power benchmarking and design analysis.
- Apply circuit-design techniques to optimize standard-cell logic for performance, power, area, and implementation quality.
- Develop and maintain Tcl and Perl scripts to automate physical-design and RTL-simulation workflows, reporting, and data collection.
- Optimize standard-cell and memory IP through block-level design studies targeting Edge AI and automotive use cases.
- Use CAD/EDA tools to support VLSI implementation, analysis, debugging, and documentation.
- Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in all activities.

Must-have
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and in good academic standing.
- English fluency (written and verbal).
- Able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Nice-to-have / Preferred
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Leadership experience in projects, competitions, or teams.
- Interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows.
- Project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of UNIX operating systems.
- Coursework, research, or project experience in VLSI design, physical design, RTL simulation, standard-cell or memory IP, or semiconductor circuit design.
- Familiarity with place-and-route flows, RTL simulation, CAD/EDA tools, and Tcl or Perl scripting.
Education Requirements
Must be at least a sophomore at the time of application and actively pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field through an accredited degree program for the duration of the internship. Minimum overall GPA 3.0 and in good academic standing.
