Chip/Software Engineer

Role Summary

Work on AI-native front-end EDA tools that help chip teams design and optimize ASICs. You will write production software, make architecture decisions, and drive core product features for customers in enterprise and startup chip companies.

This is a hands-on engineering role at a fast-growing startup; you will ship code, plan the product roadmap, and incorporate user feedback into the product.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include software development, product architecture, and customer-driven product work.

• Design and implement production code in Python and/or C++ for front-end EDA workflows.
• Make software architectural decisions for core product features.
• Translate customer and user feedback into product updates and feature priorities.
• Plan and drive the core product roadmap and strategy.
• Collaborate with customers to deploy and validate tools on real chip projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, plus several desirable qualifications.

• Must-have: Significant experience with VLSI front-end design flow and common front-end EDA tools.
• Must-have: Experience designing ASICs using SystemVerilog and using synthesis/verification tools (open-source and/or commercial).
• Must-have: Strong software engineering ability and experience shipping high-quality code in Python and/or C++.
• Must-have: Basic knowledge of statistics and AI/ML methods; data-driven problem solving and resiliency.
• Nice-to-have: One or more tapeouts (ideally on advanced nodes), contributions to open-source EDA/chip projects.
• Nice-to-have: Significant experience with PPA optimization and/or functional-correctness convergence techniques.
