Chip NPI Business Planner
Role Summary
The Chip NPI Business Planner is part of the Hsinchu Silicon Operations NPI planning team. The role coordinates across program managers, functional planners, and contract manufacturers to create and execute production schedules that meet key milestones for new chip products.
Experience Level
Mid-level — requires 5+ years of experience in semiconductor planning.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include schedule coordination, execution monitoring, and cross-functional communication to ensure successful NPI production.
- Develop and optimize production schedules between NPI program managers and functional planners.
- Monitor daily WIP status and ensure schedule execution.
- Clarify and align on spec, process, and data variance issues affecting the supply plan.
- Host weekly status meetings with management and cross-functional teams to report program health.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and contract manufacturers to enable engineering experiments and meet dynamic engineering unit demand.
- Lead post-NPI lessons-learned reviews and propose process improvements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes; technical proficiencies and language requirements follow.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor planning.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, organizational, and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and SAP.
- Fluency in English.
- Organized self-starter with strong ownership.
- Nice-to-have: Excel VBA/macros and RPA experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Planning-related field, or equivalent practical experience in semiconductor planning.
