Chip Engineering Operations Program Manager
Role Summary
The Program Manager will own silicon bring-up schedules through production release, manage wafer/board forecasts and allocations, coordinate prototype deliveries, and drive cross-functional execution for chip engineering programs. The role sits in Engineering Operations and supports NPI (new product introduction) from bring-up to production.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor program management, ASIC product engineering, or ASIC design.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include schedule ownership, demand coordination, allocation management, risk mitigation, and process/tool improvements.
- Own silicon bring-up schedule from power-on to production release and track key milestones and validation tasks.
- Develop wafer and board forecasts and negotiate demand with engineering and business teams.
- Manage chip and board allocations across the company and lead prototype chip delivery to internal customers.
- Identify, track, and mitigate programmatic risks to schedules and deliverables.
- Communicate status to cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Evaluate and improve internal processes and implement software tools for data analytics and process evaluation.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful candidates.
- 5+ years in Semiconductor Program Management, ASIC Product Engineering, or ASIC design.
- Deep understanding of ASIC technology and productization requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate multiple technical and business teams.
- Self-directed, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficient with MS Project and Excel.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
