Chip/EDA/Software Intern

Role Summary

Work as an in-person software intern on AI-native frontend chip design tools at Silimate's Mountain View office. The role focuses on building and shipping EDA software components used by enterprise and startup chip teams.

This internship can be part-time or full-time, may start immediately, and has potential to transition to a full-time position.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Expected availability: 15–40 hours per week in-person in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

Deliver software features and integrations for EDA tools; work closely with partners and company founders on engineering decisions.

• Develop and ship EDA software components in Python and/or C++.
• Implement AI-native workflows and agent-driven features for frontend chip design.
• Coordinate with tooling partners and internal stakeholders to integrate solutions.
• Collaborate with founders on architecture and engineering trade-offs.
• Produce well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.

• Must-have: Strong coding and delivery skills in Python and/or C++ with experience shipping code quickly.
• Must-have: Basic VLSI knowledge from coursework or projects.
• Must-have: Self-starter attitude; adaptive, data-driven, and able to work from first principles.
• Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to EDA tools, frontend chip design flows, or AI-driven tooling for semiconductor design.
