Chip Design Engineer - CPU Subsystem

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Networking Silicon engineering team to design CPU-subsystem components for high-performance communication chips. The role focuses on micro-architecture and RTL implementation of a microprocessor platform under strong power, area, and performance constraints.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

The engineer will implement and verify CPU-subsystem blocks, collaborate with firmware and cross-functional teams, and contribute to micro-architecture and chip development.

  • Design RTL blocks/entities to meet specifications with attention to power, area, and performance trade-offs.
  • Contribute to micro-architecture, RTL development, and related chip-development activities (design, verification, integration).
  • Work closely with firmware, verification, and other global engineering teams to integrate and validate the CPU subsystem.
  • Participate in design reviews and trade-off decisions to meet product constraints and timelines.

Requirements

Key must-have and desirable qualifications for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: 3+ years proven experience in RTL frontend ASIC verification or chip design.
  • Must-have: High level of English (written and spoken).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with CPU subsystem architecture and integration.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of memory hierarchy designs and cache coherency protocols.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with memory interfaces and on-chip interconnects (NoC).

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
