Characterization Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Support the Integrated Systems characterization team to execute RF and SoC testing, develop test automation and hardware, and analyze measurement data to validate product performance.

Work with engineers on test development, equipment evaluation, data processing and reporting for RF and ultrawideband subsystems and mixed-signal circuits.

Entry-level (Internship).

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for this internship assignment include:

  • Create automated test software to control lab test equipment and run test sequences.
  • Assist in design and development of test hardware for RF measurements.
  • Perform RF test equipment evaluation and measurement using spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, and digital pattern generators.
  • Support RF and SoC characterization testing and perform data analysis to determine product compliance.
  • Process, verify and analyze measured data and produce concise presentations and reports.
  • Develop tools for data visualization, lab efficiency tracking, and manufacturing metrics.
  • Gain hands-on experience with ultrawideband subsystems, analog/mixed-signal and RF circuits, and ARM-based embedded systems.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes required or strongly preferred for successful candidates:

  • Programming exposure: Python or C preferred.
  • Experience or interest in RF measurement and test methodologies preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear reports and presentations.
  • Self-starter with effective organizational and planning skills.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program (BS, MS, or PhD) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science. The role is part of Qorvo's internship program for college students.
