CEFIB and TEM Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Global Quality Assurance Lab in Palm Bay, FL to provide focused-ion-beam (CE-FIB), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and SEM-based support for design and failure-analysis teams. The role centers on executing failure analysis, preparing and analyzing samples, interpreting results, and delivering clear technical reports to cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Senior — requires approximately 10–15 years of hands-on experience with CE-FIB, TEM and other SEM-based tools.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include running microscopy and failure-analysis workflows, supporting design and FA teams, and documenting findings.

• Operate and maintain CE-FIB, TEM and SEM tools for analysis and debugging.
• Prepare and process samples using techniques such as wet chemistry, polishing and plasma deprocessing.
• Perform elemental analysis (EDS) and interpret results.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and layout data; correlate layouts to physical defects using CAD tools.
• Collaborate with design, test and failure-analysis teams to diagnose issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Document analysis procedures, results and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.
• Manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize work to meet project timelines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and other essential qualifications.

• 10–15 years hands-on experience using Circuit Edit FIB (CE-FIB), TEM and SEM-based tools.
• Familiarity with Thermo Fisher (FEI) V400ACE and Helios Dual Beam systems.
• Experience with CAD/layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent.
• Understanding of failure-analysis techniques and semiconductor fabrication and packaging processes.
• Experience interpreting EDS data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work across multiple teams.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; Renesas will not sponsor visas for this role.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
