Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role in Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (CAP) focused on product, test or validation engineering for analog and embedded-processing ICs. The role combines formal training with hands-on assignments to develop test software/hardware, perform product debug, optimize test flow, and support manufacturing release activities.

The position works with cross-functional teams, customers and manufacturing sites to improve yield, support new product ramps, resolve quality issues, and ensure products meet performance and reliability targets.

Experience Level

Entry-level — targeted at fresh graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Work across product, test and validation functions to ensure quality and manufacturability of TI IC products.

• Develop and implement test plans, test software and tester hardware interactions.
• Debug devices at bench and system level; perform verification and characterization.
• Support product qualification, reliability testing and failure analysis.
• Optimize test flows to improve yield, cost and throughput.
• Coordinate with wafer fabrication and assembly/test sites to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Serve as operational contact for assigned product portfolio and escalate cross-functional problems.
• Participate in cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
• Document results and communicate status to stakeholders.

Requirements

Core technical and interpersonal skills expected for successful performance in the CAP Test Engineer role.

• Must-have
  • Fundamental understanding of basic test concepts and bench setups.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software interaction on automated test equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of schematics, layouts and digital components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to debug hardware/software issues.
  • Good verbal and written communication; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
• Nice-to-have
  • Programming skills in C/C++; LabVIEW experience recommended.
  • Understanding of analog circuitry (op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing).
  • Experience with device qualification, reliability testing, or manufacturing release processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field. Posting specifies a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.0. Role is aimed at fresh graduates or candidates with less than two years of work experience.
