Career Accelerator Program - Test Engineer

Role Summary

This is an entry-level engineering role within Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (CAP). The program combines formal training and on-the-job experience to develop product, test, and validation engineers who support IC product quality, performance and manufacturability.

The engineer will work on test software and hardware development, product debugging, test optimization and validation to help release devices to manufacturing and support assigned product lines.

Experience Level

Entry-level (new graduate / early career). Typically 0–2 years of professional experience; the program is designed for recent graduates.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical development, product support and cross-functional coordination.

• Participate in CAP training and on-the-job assignments to develop skills in product, test and validation engineering.
• Develop and maintain test hardware and software for device characterization and manufacturing test.
• Debug product issues, optimize test programs and verify device performance.
• Support product qualification, reliability testing and failure verification activities.
• Prepare devices and test setups for release to manufacturing and verify manufacturing readiness.
• Serve as a primary operational contact for assigned product portfolio and resolve customer quality or application issues.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to investigate and solve production, yield and cost issues.
• Establish and maintain relationships with wafer fabrication and assembly manufacturing sites to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.

Requirements

Education requirements are listed below under Education Requirements. The following summarizes required capabilities and preferred technical skills.

• Basic understanding of schematics, PCB layouts and digital components (preferred).
• Knowledge of analog circuitry (op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensors) is a plus.
• Programming skills in C/C++; LabVIEW experience recommended.
• Familiarity with automated test equipment and tester hardware/software interaction.
• Experience or aptitude for hardware design, bench setups and device characterization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work effectively in teams.
• Time management skills to meet project deadlines and quickly ramp on new systems and processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field. Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is stated as a minimum requirement.
