Job Title

Career Accelerator Program - Product Engineer (MS/PhD)

Role Summary

Join the Analog Circuit Analysis Lab to determine root causes of electrical failures and recommend corrective actions to support new technology development, product ramp, and technology transfers. Work with analog circuit designers, test and characterization engineers, and process/device experts to execute failure analysis and deliver clear, defensible results.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career - role targeted at recent MS or PhD graduates. No explicit years of prior industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Perform hands-on electrical failure analysis and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Design and run test setups to electrically verify failures and isolate causes.
  • Use global isolation tools such as OBIRCH and EMMI to localize faults.
  • Follow the failure analysis flow to efficiently reach root cause.
  • Perform electrical characterization of semiconductor devices (MOS and bipolar) and analog integrated circuits.
  • Probe internal nets on integrated circuits and collect relevant data.
  • Analyze results and write final technical reports; defend recommendations to designers, process experts, and management.
  • Operate and apply laboratory equipment for testing and characterization.

Requirements

Core technical capabilities and collaborative skills expected; education details are listed separately below.

  • Must-have: hands-on failure analysis skills; ability to set up and run electrical tests, probe internal nets, and analyze device/IC behavior; clear technical writing and presentation to defend findings.
  • Nice-to-have: coursework or background in analog circuit design, semiconductor processing, process control, or device failure analysis; proficiency with bench equipment (DC supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters); programming or scripting experience (Python, LabView, MATLAB, VBA, C++); familiarity with Spoffire; strong teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree required (MS). Target fields: Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related engineering fields; PhD-level candidates are indicated by the program title. Cumulative GPA expectation: 3.0/4.0 or higher.
