Role Summary
Join a 12-month Career Accelerator Program (CAP) focused on product engineering for new product development (NPD). The role drives the transition of silicon from tape-out through high-volume manufacturing, owning validation, sample build-up, launch timelines, and yield activities.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Guidance: 0–2 years of professional experience; this position is targeted at recent college graduates.
Responsibilities
The Product Engineer will execute pre-launch and post-silicon validation, coordinate sample builds, and ensure on-time product releases.
- Lead pre-silicon and post-silicon execution: checkout plans, test-vehicle preparation, and risk assessments.
- Author and execute Special Work Requests (SWRs) to build sample inventories for characterization, customer evaluation, and qualification testing.
- Drive silicon validation and characterization; compile and analyze large datasets to produce device characterization reports across voltage and temperature corners.
- Track NPD launch milestones with Project Managers; identify and escalate bottlenecks to maintain on-time releases.
- Perform initial yield analysis, design-of-experiments (DOE), and Gage R&R studies to establish production test limits and improve manufacturing yield.
Requirements
Core technical skills and personal attributes required or strongly preferred for success in this role.
- Basic understanding of hardware validation concepts, parametric testing, and semiconductor device structures (e.g., diodes, FETs, ESD protection layouts).
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and bench validation (curve tracers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, return loss analyzers) is preferred.
- Experience with bench testing of mixed-signal and digital circuits, and with validation/characterization PCBs is preferred.
- Familiarity with failure analysis techniques for integrated circuits and devices is preferred.
- Programming skills to automate bench equipment (e.g., LabVIEW, TestStand) and experience with C/C++ are advantageous.
- Knowledge of statistics and data-analysis tools to set production test limits and predict yield trends is preferred.
- Strong teamwork, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet schedules.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Microelectronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher required. (Degree level and fields taken from the posting.)
