Camera Frontend Implementation Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Camera Frontend Implementation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the frontend implementation of large Camera ISP blocks to meet aggressive power, performance, and area (PPA) targets and drive designs to tapeout. Work closely with front-end designers, DFT, and physical-design teams to execute RTL-to-physical flows and close timing, functional, and low-power issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years of experience were listed.
Responsibilities
Execute and own frontend implementation tasks from RTL through physical convergence and tapeout readiness.
- Lead RTL-to-physical frontend implementation for Camera ISP designs.
- Perform logic synthesis, optimization, and physical-aware synthesis to meet PPA targets.
- Develop and validate timing constraints and perform static timing analysis (STA).
- Drive formal equivalence checking and verification (LEC/FV) and support low-power implementation and verification.
- Implement and close functional and timing ECOs; support placement-and-routing convergence.
- Collaborate with Front-end Design, DFT, and Physical Design teams to resolve design issues and achieve tapeout readiness.
- Develop schedules, assess project risks, and track execution toward silicon tapeouts.
- Automate flows and analysis/debug tasks with scripting to improve productivity.
- Contribute technical leadership in design reviews and methodology improvements.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with RTL-to-physical frontend flows, large-block synthesis, timing closure, and ECO execution.
- Must-have: Experience with static timing analysis and timing-constraint development/validation.
- Must-have: Experience driving formal verification (LEC/FV) and low-power implementation flows.
- Must-have: Strong scripting ability to automate synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows.
- Must-have: Proven collaboration with front-end, DFT, and physical-design teams to reach tapeout readiness.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Camera ISP designs, advanced process nodes, and large-block physical implementation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience improving synthesis and physical-design methodologies and tool flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (as stated). No alternative-equivalent experience language was provided.
