Job Title

Calibre Product Engineer

Role Summary

The Product Engineer will define, prioritize, and characterize product capabilities for the Calibre IC design and verification tool suite. The role interfaces with customers, regional application and support teams, and R&D to translate customer requirements into product features and to validate prototypes through testing and evaluation.

Work is within the Calibre product organization and cross-functional Siemens software teams to deliver production-ready EDA solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Preferred 6+ years of relevant experience in EDA, IC design, or related roles (experience guidance provided by employer).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining product requirements, collaborating with R&D and customers, and delivering technical materials and documentation.

  • Act as a technical expert across Calibre products and related toolsets.
  • Monitor IC design ecosystem trends and customer needs to define new capabilities.
  • Define, prioritize, and characterize product requirements and features.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues; develop new methodologies and solutions.
  • Prototype, evaluate, and test new products and feature implementations with R&D and test teams.
  • Work directly with customers, regional application engineers, global support, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Create technical presentations, training material, white papers, articles, and application notes.
  • Review and improve user and reference documentation.
  • Present complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate across teams.
  • Some domestic and international travel required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes for successful performance in this role.

  • Ability to analyze and debug complex design and performance issues; strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as TCL or Python.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Capable of working independently as an individual contributor and collaboratively within teams.
  • High energy, curiosity, and self-motivation to learn new technologies.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Calibre or other EDA tools.
  • Experience leading feature development from prototype to production release.
  • Knowledge of IC design trends, 3D IC design, and emerging requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple global, cross-functional projects.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required; equivalent practical experience accepted.
