Job Title

Calibre LVS Principal Software Engineer

Role Summary

Principal engineer on the Calibre LVS R&D team responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing physical-verification features (LVS/DRC) with a focus on accuracy, performance and scalability. Works closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver production-quality software for semiconductor design flows.

This position is subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR); employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining an export license.

Experience Level

Senior β€” approximately 10 years of relevant software development experience in EDA, HPC, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, development, and performance optimization of Calibre LVS/DRC features and mentoring team members.

  • Design, develop, and maintain LVS/DRC features focused on correctness, performance, and usability.
  • Optimize and parallelize code for HPC platforms to ensure scalability and efficient resource use.
  • Implement and tune multi-threaded algorithms to improve throughput and latency.
  • Perform performance analysis, profiling, and debugging to locate and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and other engineering teams to define specifications and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Strong C++ software development experience; extensive production coding history.
  • Proficiency with Linux-based development and toolchains.
  • Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) and parallel programming.
  • Extensive experience in EDA, particularly physical verification and LVS methodologies.
  • Knowledge of graph algorithms and their application in EDA workflows.
  • Proven experience implementing multi-threaded and parallel algorithms.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant industry experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is stated; Master's or Ph.D. is preferred. (Degree fields and preferences extracted from the posting.)
