CAD Engineer

Role Summary

Broadcom Central Engineering is looking for a CAD Engineer to assist with the development, installation, and testing of physical verification decks (DRC/LVS) mainly in the Calibre environment, supporting advanced FINFET technologies.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring 6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The CAD Engineer will be responsible for:

• Developing and deploying Calibre DRC/LVS decks for advanced FINFET nodes.
• Defining and creating simple test cases and basic test structures to validate (QA) PV decks.
• Supporting existing automation using PERL, Python, and UNIX shell scripting.
• Creating documentation and providing hands-on training for Design & Layout engineers as needed.
• Tracking and resolving tool and technology file issues by collaborating with foundry partners.
• Engaging with EDA and Foundry R&D teams on advanced node capability roadmaps.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 6+ years of EDA experience.
• User-level familiarity with CAD Tools: Calibre, Virtuoso Layout & Schematics.
• A background in layout design and technology knowledge for layout challenges.
• Experience in all phases of CAD tools, including evaluation, QA, testing, release, user support, and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.
